Main Application Window

Learn about the Main Application Window in P3Source, its functionality, and utility.

Overview

The Main Application Window serves as the central hub for P3Source, providing access to essential tools, menus, and panels. By default, it displays the "Home" panel featuring the P3 logo. It contains a set of menus and tabs specific to each different part of the system for ease of use and navigation.

Main Application Window

This window can switch between some key features using tabs for managing your workflows, granted a majority of your work will be done in the Job List Tab and the Project List Tab:

  1. Home Tab (default)
  2. Job List Tab: where your Jobs are listed and can be managed. Job List is also theprimary place where corporate buyers primarily manage their procurement projects.
  3. Job Orders Tab: where your Orders for Jobs can be found, can also be navigated too by the Job List. Job Orders is based on the same information as the Jobs tab with a different configuration focused on live orders rather than RFQs.
  4. Project List Tab: where your Projects are listed and can be managed. This tab and Job List are where a majority of our users spend the most time. Project List is where print resellers primarily manager their procurement projects
  5. Rate Cards Tab: an advanced feature for advanced P3Source users.
  6. Job Calendar Tab: a convenient tool, where all your Job deadlines and due dates can be seen.

Home Tab

The "Home" tab provides quick access to important information and functions. Key elements include:

Information Display

  • License Status: View license details in the bottom-center section. Double-clicking opens the System Information Window.
  • Software Release: Check the release date in the bottom-right section, useful for troubleshooting.

Application Menus

Global Menu

Access system-wide settings and updates:

  • My Settings Window: Customize personal preferences.
  • Enterprise Settings: Manage organization-wide settings (admin-only).
  • Update Prices: Retrieve supplier quotes for all users (admin-only).
  • Update License: Sync your license with the P3 Software Server.
  • Update Application: Check for software updates.
  • Change Password: Update your account credentials.
  • View System Information: Access detailed system data.
  • Exit: Close the application.

Job Management

The Jobs Menu provides tools for managing print jobs, accessible through the Job List or the Job Manager Window.

Use the Projects Manager or the Project List to:

Suppliers

Access and maintain the Supplier List.

Customers

Manage clients via the Customer List.

Items

Customize item lists in the Items List. This is a fairly advanced feature of P3Source and may not be needed or used at all in your typical operation of the ssytem.

Reports

Generate customized reports via the Reporting System.

RateCards

Manage rate cards: create, modify, or organize lists. This is a very advanced feature of P3Source and may not be needed in your typical operations of the system.


Help Menu

The Help Menu links to resources, including:

  • Help Documentation: Guides for key features like the Job List and Calendar.
  • Startup Tips: Quick start guides for new users.
  • P3 Support: Email support or access the "About" window for release details.

By organizing information clearly and providing direct links to additional resources, the Main Application Window simplifies your workflow and enhances productivity.
